Safety is an important commitment for us and always comes first. One of our main goals is to achieve a zero accident rate. A safe and healthy place of work for all those involved in our operation is essential, and therefore a
top priority for us.
Votorantim Cimentos has established a policy to conduct its business in a way that safeguards our employees’ safety and health, while also taking care of other stakeholders involved in our operations.
At Votorantim Cimentos, we are committed to customer success through excellence. We also know that excellence will only be achieved if we act with integrity, ethics and transparency. That is why our Values and Beliefs and Code of Conduct reinforce our companywide commitment to Compliance. We expect employees at all levels, from operational roles to our board of directors, and shareholders and partners to follow the Code of Conduct guidelines and to comply with all laws, regulations and policies in the regions and countries where we operate.
We are constantly searching for best practices, encouraging the fight against corruption and emphasizing the damages caused by corruption in political, economic and social domains. Thusly, we prioritize and communicate these issues among our customers, employees, directors, shareholders, suppliers, partners, and stakeholders from government, media and communities, toward protecting and preserving values for society and, consequently, for our company.
At Votorantim Cimentos, we prohibit any payment for favors, facilitation or the offering of advantages to public officials or government authorities for any purpose. This includes receiving and offering free gifts, providing entertainment and hospitality, extending corporate invitations, or any other act that is considered illegal by the local legislation or is in disagreement with Compliance. Since 2017 Votorantim Cimentos has a Donation and Sponsorship policy that prohibits political donations. In all instances, everyone must always respect the guidelines outlined in our Code of Conduct.
Since 2013, we have maintained a Compliance Program, with communication and training campaigns aimed at all employees and directors. We monitor the effectiveness of the program regularly and take the necessary measures in case of infractions or oversights. We also encourage the reporting of any suspected wrongdoing through our Ethics Line; and, we do not tolerate any form of retaliation against those who raise concerns. This channel — public and open to all, inside and outside of the organization — constitutes a way to report misconduct in a confidential and anonymous manner. All reports are investigated and addressed in accordance with internal policies and current laws and regulations.
Our programs and policies are constantly evolving as we consolidate best practices and adapt to changes in our society, while preserving our enduring legacy of integrity, ethics and transparency.
